Undergraduate Thesis - Feasibility of Rainwater Harvesting in Paarden Island

The following assumptions were made concerning Paarden Island:

• It was assumed that all roof and ground surface runoff will be captured and utilised within Paarden Island using rainwater harvesting systems;

• It was assumed that a sample size of erven that were used to calculate the feasibility of implementing rainwater harvesting in Paarden Island would be representative of the whole of Paarden Island; and        

• It is assumed that the data that was collected from the various sources was as accurate as possible. Caution was advised by the City of Cape Town Department of Catchment Stormwater and River Management and City of Cape Town Department of Water and Sanitation, Water Demand Management on their data.
