Undergraduate Thesis - Feasibility of Rainwater Harvesting in Paarden Island

To meet the aim of this thesis the following objectives will have to be met:

• The total amount of rainwater that can be collected in Paarden Island is determined. This includes calculating the amount of water that is captured from roof and ground surfaces;

• The concentration of heavy metals in the ground surface water runoff will be determined and assessed; and

• The feasibility of implementing rainwater harvesting systems will also be determined. The result of this outcome will determine whether or not rainwater harvesting should be implemented in Paarden Island.
